Just before the end of November we took delivery of a new roof system we’re trialing on our custom-build project in Gainsborough.
The system is essentially large format polystyrene panels that have a steel section moulded throughout the panel’s full length to give the structural strength required. The panels interlock side by side with minimal gap filling required, ready to take a vapour membrane and counterbattens onto which the tiles, or in this case, TATA Steel roof cladding, can be attached.
The system worked well, and we’re confident next time round we’ll be even quicker at installing it. In fact, we liked it so much, we’re going to implement it on our other custombuild currently underway in Middle Rasen within the next few weeks.
